At Glass & Grain, every stand begins the same way good furniture has for generations — with real wood, careful planning, and a commitment to building things the right way.

Our background is rooted in traditional carpentry and custom woodworking. The same standards used in high-end cabinetry and architectural millwork guide how each aquarium stand is built in our shop.

We believe the furniture supporting your aquarium should reflect the same level of care as the aquascape itself.

Real Hardwood

Each stand is built from solid hardwood selected for strength, stability, and natural beauty. Rather than covering materials with heavy stains or artificial finishes, we highlight the natural grain of the wood so every piece remains unique.

Built for Strength

Aquariums are heavy. Water, glass, substrate, and hardscape can quickly add up to hundreds of pounds.

Our stands are designed with reinforced bases and structural support to safely distribute weight while maintaining a clean, minimal form. Strength and stability are built into the structure from the beginning.

Handcrafted in the Workshop

Every Glass & Grain stand is handcrafted in our workshop using the same techniques found in custom furniture and cabinetry.

From cutting and assembly to sanding and finishing, each piece is handled with care throughout the entire process.

Because every stand is built individually, small details receive the attention they deserve.

A Natural Finish

We finish each stand to enhance the natural character of the wood while protecting it for long-term use.

The goal is simple: create a piece of furniture that complements the clarity of rimless glass aquariums and fits naturally into the spaces where people live.

Glass & Grain stands are not mass produced or pulled from warehouse shelves.

Each piece is built to order in our shop and finished by hand before leaving the workshop.
